Florida Chinese Drywall Attorney

Recently, numerous State and Federal agencies, including The Florida Department of Health, The Consumer Product and Safety Commission, The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and The Environmental Protection Agency, have all been making some serious "noise" about the possibility that a particular type of building material may be causing health problems for people in their homes in Florida.

This is NOT related to asbestos or "mold." It is something completely different and involves an imported product used in recent Florida home construction and repair.
A variety of often "unexplained" symptoms related to this product includes:

• Irritation to the eyes, nose or throat
• Difficulty breathing
• Upper respiratory tract problems/infections
• Bloody noses
• "Headaches, tiredness, trouble sleeping and slight changes in the nerves," (according to
ATSDR, a part of the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services).

If you or anyone in your household is experiencing, or has experienced, any of these symptoms, it could be very telling.

In addition, it appears sulfide gases emitted from this same building material is also capable of…• Corroding the coils and wiring in your air conditioning system and other home appliances.
As you can see… between the health issues and potential property damage you might be facing due to corrosion and home repairs… this is a HUGE problem. The Associated Press estimates over 100,000 homeowners (or more) may be unknowingly living in homes with this material "hiding" in their walls. Additionally, Time, USA Today, The New York Times, CNN, Fox News and other major media have all reported on this unsafe material.

So, what is this material exactly?

The Culprit…

CHINESE DRYWALL!

Do you remember the huge controversy last year, and a few years prior, with Chinese toy manufacturers? They were exporting toys to us that contained harmful lead paint. As a result, children in the U.S. died and hundreds of toys were recalled.
Sadly, nothing has changed: we continue to look to the Chinese for manufacturing because they produce the cheapest product.
I hate to say this – but it’s possible your home builder did the same thing when building your home. Let me explain. During the 2004-2007 housing boom, to meet demand and keep costs low, various home builders purchased drywall from Chinese manufacturers and had it shipped here. It was cheap and abundant. They used it in new home construction and post-hurricane reconstruction.

Everything seemed fine.

The problem is, as the Chinese drywall aged and became exposed to the Florida heat and humidity, sulfide gases were being released and the people inside the homes were getting sick. They were experiencing the symptoms I mentioned earlier – eye, nose and throat irritation; breathing and respiratory problems; bloody noses; headaches, tiredness, trouble sleeping, etc. – and builders were getting read the riot act and getting sued.

In addition, people were complaining their house…
"Smelled Like Rotten Eggs!"

It’s true. The sulfide gases that are emitted have an awful, rotten egg smell. It makes identifying homes containing Chinese drywall fairly simple. But be careful – some homes containing Chinese drywall DO NOT emit the strong sulfide smell.

Why not?

Because some builders used a combination of Chinese AND American drywall – and the American drywall does not emit sulfides. So, if a home contains mostly American drywall and a relatively small amount of the Chinese product, the "rotten egg" smell will be very faint or practically non-existent. However, the effects may still be hazardous.
A No-Hassle Chinese Drywall "Test"?

Fortunately, there is a simple method to determine whether Chinese drywall was used in your home WITHOUT HAVING AN INSPECTOR COME TO YOUR HOUSE. It involves asking you a few specific questions about certain areas of your home and what they look like. It’s that easy. If we determine Chinese drywall was used to build your house, we will discuss what type of legal claim for money damages you might have.

Realize, if you DO have Chinese drywall and do nothing, you might have to pay tens of thousands of dollars down the road to remove and replace it, and rebuild major parts of your home. So, why wait? Call (800) 760-6065 for your FREE Chinese drywall consultation. It’s toll free, anywhere in Florida.
